Duration:

Donor/Sponsor:

Foundation Heinrich Böll

Description:

The project aims to raise awareness and knowledge about the energy crisis faced by countries worldwide, caused by issues in natural gas supply. The project seeks to highlight ways and possibilities to overcome energy supply problems, which the Sarajevo Canton will very likely face as well, such as:
Development of guidelines for responding to rising energy prices, aimed at warning citizens and building managers about the importance of preventing losses through the building envelope, i.e., the possibility of reducing energy consumption for heating, cooking, laundry, etc.
Development of guidelines for responding to interruptions in natural gas supply, aimed at making citizens of the Canton aware of the possibility of using alternative fuels and the existence of emergency chimneys in buildings that are yet to be constructed. Additionally, the guidelines will include explanations of additional measures that need to be taken in the event of a complete interruption in natural gas supply, as well as ways to produce alternative fuels such as paper briquettes for heating.
