First REIC Summer School in Albania: „Low Emission Development Planning” (September 8-14, 2019)
The Summer School brought together 15 students for seven days of amazing collaboration, education and team work, generating huge energy and great baseline for further projects.
The Summer School was held in port city Durres, the second most populous city in the Republic of Albania. Students, with different background and same desire to gathering new knowledge, came from all parts of Albania but also from Kosovo and Germany. After lectures about sustainable development, energy efficiency, renewable energy sources, energy poverty, citizen energy and Energiewende students were prepared to work on group project regarding low-carbon emission development in Albania.
The Summer School was organized by Regional Education and Information Centre for Sustainable Development in South-East Europe – REIC in collaboration with Heinrich Böll Foundation’s Office in Sarajevo responsible for the Foundation’s work in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Albania and North Macedonia.
XV Regional Summer School „Energy and Climate Policy“ 2019: successfully finished!
XV Regional Summer School „Energy and Climate Policy“ was organized by REIC in collaboration with GIZ Open Regional Fund for South-East Europe - Energy Efficiency. It was held in the Etno Village Čardaci in period of August 18-24, 2019.
The seven-day School programme was thematically dedicated to 5 key dimensions of the National Energy and Climate Plans (NECPs) of the Energy Union for the period 2021-2030. Students expanded their knowledge trough lectures and site visits to renewable energy facilities 
(solar ?, biomass ?, geothermal 
and small HPP ?). Lectures contained important facts from energy security and market, trough decarbonisation and energy efficiency to innovations. GREEN Council was our host at the International Burch University where we had a joint event on e-mobility and recycling with #sharinglaboratory.
The organizer provided a full scholarship for 17 young professionals in the relevant field from Croatia, Czech Republic, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia, and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
