The project aims to raise awareness about the importance of solar energy use in Bosnia and Herzegovina by strengthening the capacities of local communities, improving information accessibility, and promoting solar technologies among citizens and local governments. Key activities include analyzing the rooftop potential of all municipal buildings in BiH, creating an Atlas of potential renewable energy communities, empowering local governments for successful planning and implementation of solar projects, and raising public awareness about solar energy and its role in sustainable development. The project will develop a WebGIS platform for visualizing solar potentials and serving as an educational and informational resource. Additionally, the project will create a solar calculator for citizens and organize a "Solar Tour" across 40 municipalities and cities to provide information and education about solar energy. Solar Offices will be established in municipalities to support the implementation of solar projects and promote sustainable development.
