DECA Project Management Meeting Held in Niš, Serbia

Niš, Serbia, October 22-24, 2024 – The city of Niš hosted the DECA (Developing Energy Communities in the Adriatic-Ionian Region) Project Management Meeting, convening key stakeholders and project partners to review progress, align strategies, and strengthen collaboration toward advancing sustainable energy practices in the region.

The formal meeting started on October 23 at the Science and Technology Park Niš, with an in-depth review of content modules, where partners discussed the topics, shared gathered content, and addressed essential considerations to ensure alignment and quality.

Partners visited the Local Learning Lab and a study visit to the MAGDON energy community, a leading example of renewable energy implementation and community-based energy solutions. This visit provided participants with hands-on insights into innovative practices in fostering energy communities.

On October 24, the focus was strategic planning for awareness-raising and capacity-building activities. Partners presented guidance materials and outlined comprehensive plans for training programs and community engagement initiatives through 2025. Discussions supported interactive Q&A sessions, allowing for the exploration of outstanding questions and innovative solutions. The meeting concluded with final remarks, reaffirming the shared commitment of the partners to advancing the objectives of the DECA project.
